About Matthew Koumis

About Matt 教師簡介

Matthew Koumis is a pianist, writer and piano teacher and currently living in Tianmu, Taipei, Taiwan. He has been teaching piano to students of all ages for 32 years. He has extensive experience in solo recitals around the world, and received invitations to perform several works by composers Francis Pott, Paul Mathey and Iannis Constantinidis and has served as a member of the jury for international piano competition. His work has been broadcasted many times on Radio Suisse Romande and has recorded a CD album with 5- star review, available on Amazon.

Matthew graduated with a BMus (Hons) and teaching diploma from Royal College of Music, London, with a First in Piano Performance. He subsequently studied at the Liszt Academy in Budapest, Hungary, and at the Conservatoire Russe de Paris. His mentors are exceptional pianists from around the world, including Albert Ferber, Muza Rubackyte, Roberto Szidon, and Yonty Solomon. His qualifications are FRSM, BMus (Hons), Dip RCM (Teachers), LGSMD, CELTA from University of Cambridge and he is a registered private teacher at Incorporated Society of Musicians.
